Maths Chapter Introduction: Logarithms
Have you ever faced really big numbers and wondered how to deal with them easily? Or needed a smarter way to solve equations involving exponents, like 2x = 32 ?.
That’s where logarithms come in — they help you work backward with powers.
In simple terms, a logarithm tells you what power (or exponent) you need to raise a number (called the base) to get another number.
For example:

This means: “To get 32, you raise 2 to the power 5.”
So, logarithms are just another way of expressing exponents, but in reverse.
