Area of complete figure = ( 16 + 16 + 16 )
= 38 cm2

Area of Fig 1 ( square ) = 4cm * 4cm = 16cm2
Area of 5 such figures = 5 cm * 16cm = 80cm2
Q 2] . Find the area of the rectangles whose sides are :
(a) 6cm and 4cm
(b) 1 km and 500m
(c) 3m and 80 cm
SOLUTION : Area of a rectangle = Length * Breadth
(a) Area of rectangle = 6cm * 4cm = 24cm2
(b) Area of rectangle = 1 km * 0.5km = 0.5 km2
(c) Area pf rectangle = 3m * 0.8 m = 2.4 m2
